I first discovered Little Cottonwood Canyon in the Wasatch Mountain Range twenty-five years ago,
and I never forgot them. The sheer size and scope of these rugged mountains were jaw-dropping.
I've started a watercolor study of the mountains, shown here in late fall, when the deciduous colors
of the trees contrast with the golden colors and mossy greens of the lowlands.
In the mornings the peaks are snowcapped,
and by afternoon the snow burns off. Watercolor is a great medium to capture
all these colors. I've been back several times, and plan to return,
to paint these beauties
in every season, and at different times of the day.
